Fourth studio album, featuring collaborations with Alec Empire (Vulture, Battle), narration by Tilda Swinton (Oblivion, Thickets, Theseus) and fiddle instrumentation and guest vocals by Eliza Carthy (The Bachelor, Damaris, Blackdown); soprano choral vocals by Jo Apps (Thickets, The Messenger), bass and alto clarinet instrumentation by Derek Apps (Thickets, The Messenger) and also spoons by Imelda Apps (Blackdown).

Produced by Patrick Wolf, with additional production by Jonathan Shakhovskoy (except for Vulture and Battle, co-produced by Alec Empire and Who Will?, co-produced by Matthew Herbert). All songs written by Patrick Wolf (except Vulture and Battle, written by Alec Empire and Patrick Wolf). The Bachelor song lyrics are adapted from a traditional Appalachian poem entitled 'The Turtle Dove'. String arrangements by Fiona Brice and Patrick Wolf. Fiddle arrangements by Eliza Carthy. Ondes Martenot, glass harmonica and cristal baschet arrangements by Thomas Bloch.

The album was recorded between 2008-2009 at the following studios: Parkgate Studios (Battle, Hastings); Olympic Studios (Barnes, London), The Hellish Vortex (Prenzlauberg, Berlin) Studio de La Reine (Paris), Assault and Battery Studios (London), The Dairy (Brixton, London), Bankside Lofts (SE1, London), Ken Thomas’s House (Arford), and The Fritzl Dungeon (Curtain Road, London). Church Organ recorded on location at St. George’s Church, Brede, Sussex.

Chief sound engineer: Jonathan Shakhovskoy.

Assistant engineers: Catherin Marks, Jonathan Krisp, Dave Emery, Ken Thomas, Mark Allaway, and Al Lawson.

The album was mixed by Jonathan Shakhovskoy and Patrick Wolf at Chairworks Studios, Castleford; Music Box, London, and The Yard, London, and was mastered at Abbey Road by Geoff Pesche.

Singles released to date are Vulture and Hard Times (coming 6th of July, 2009). The album entered the UK Independent Chart at #2 in its first week and debuted at #49 in the UK Album Chart.
